Mr Wu is the CEO of one of Forbes Fab 50 Companies of Asia. Fosun Pharma is China second largest manufacturer of pharmaceutical products. Though the company operates out of China and is concentrated in the home market, it is eyeing International ventures in the coming years.
Wu is the man behind the shift in the company’s business strategy. He feels the South Asian markets hold viable opportunities for the company’s growth.
Wu Yifang is also one of the leaders driving a major shift in business strategy in the pharma industry by targetting fatal diseases in poorer countries and producing cheaper medicine for diseases such as AIDS and cancer.
His company has partnered up with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to produce a drug called Artesun which is sold at much lower costs to global charities operating in developing countries.
