What makes Wayne Smith a Global Shaker?
Wayne Smith is the Chairperson and CEO of Community Health Systems (CHS) which is the USA’s largest provider of healthcare facilities. They are present in 22 states and own, lease or operate 158 hospitals with annual revenue of close to $20 Billion.
Mr Smith is regarded as one of the most aggressive business leaders in the healthcare industry. He led the Merger between CHS and Triad Hospitals, a company almost the same size as CHS in 2007. He went on to lead further mergers and acquisitions making him ‘The best Performing CEO’ according to The Business Journal.
Owing to his tactical business operations and progressive mergers, Wayne Smith was appointed the President of Association of American Hospitals in 2003.
