Tyrelle McLeod-Bentley is the co-founder of Soccer-Assist, the UK’s award-winning US Soccer Scholarships Agency.
The Milton Keynes-based agency places young European athletes on highly sought-after US scholarships, supporting aspiring footballers through their education and granting them golden opportunities to embark on professional careers.
McLeod-Bentley, who spent time working and playing football in the United States, set up the company with fellow soccer fan Junior Osei-Tutu after becoming frustrated with the lack of support commonly given to young athletes and international scholarship students. They recognised that no matter your level of skill, securing a future in the sport can largely depend on luck, personal connections and being in the right place at the right time.
The young entrepreneur was listed as one of 30 future sports industry leaders by Barclays and The Sports Industry Group, and Soccer Assist clients can earn a BTEC Level 3 in sport whilst participating in the programme.
