What makes Tom Woolf a Global Shaker?

Tuition at universities in England is now the highest in the world according to the Student Loan Calculator, with an average cost of US$11,534, it is almost US$2,000 more than in the US.

To combat these issues former athlete Tom Woolf founded EdAid. It is a crowdfunding tool that allows prospective students to appeal to a network of friends, family, colleagues, alumni and even EdAid’s partner companies for funding. It also acts as a student job site so that students can access the best jobs while in higher education.

It is an alternative way for students to fund their education, an area of concern within the UK as student loan debt has surged to over £100 billion.

It is not Woolf’s first venture into the charity space, he also founded JustGiving, the largest fundraising platform dedicated to charities across the Middle East and Africa. He is a coach for Nike and splits his time between London and Dubai.
