What makes Simon Crowthers a Global Shaker?
Simon Crowther is an award-winning engineer and founder of one of the UK’s leading flood defence companies, Flood Protection Solutions.
After his family home was destroyed in the infamous British floods of 2007, which devastated thousands of businesses and just under 45,000 homes, Simon Crowther made it his life goal to protect other households from a similar fate.
He set up Flood Protection Solutions in 2012 while still a civil engineering student. His company is the only UK distributor of the innovative Water-Gate barrier, safer to use than traditional sandbags, which is rapidly becoming the UK’s flood protection product of choice. The company also offers high-quality water pumps and consultancy for flooding and fire water run-off.
In 2018, Crowther was named one of Forbes’ 30 under 30, and he was winner of the 2016 Young Entrepreneur of the Year award at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
