Sarah Willingham is the British entrepreneur, investor and personal finance expert best known for her management of high street giants Planet Hollywood and Pizza Express. Observers of the business world may also remember Willingham from a two-year stint at Dragons’ Den, the popular BBC series which promotes business and entrepreneurship.
The Staffordshire-born business personality graduated with two degrees from Oxford Brookes University, sending her on a path to business success which would see her obtain a masters degree in 2004 for the Cranfield University School of Management. After managing a succession of restaurants, Willingham decided to go it alone and purchased The Bombay Bicycle Club, transforming the loss-making chain of 6 restaurants into 17 profitable eateries, making it the largest chain of Indian restaurants in the country.
Management Today and The Sunday Times acknowledged Willingham as one of the “35 most successful women under 35” in the UK. In January 2016, Willingham was named one of The Sunday Times’ ‘500 Most Influential people in Britain’. She has regularly appeared on various TV programmes, including Daybreak, This Morning, The Wright Stuff and Sky News.
