Philip Beahon is co-founder of Castore, one of the United Kingdom’s leading providers of quality sportswear. Castore’s products are worn by athletes such as Andy Murray, former tennis World Number One, and sold in 37 countries.
Beahon, an aspiring cricketer, and his brother Tom, a footballer for Tranmere Rovers, became increasingly frustrated with the short life spans of shinpads, shorts, jackets and other commonly-used sportswear. They decided to create a company that specialised in advanced performance features, such as anti-odour technology, sonic-welded seams to make garments stronger and graduated laser-cut holes to enhance body temperature regulation.
Castore entered into a three-year investment partnership with Andy Murray, worth an estimated £8m, in early 2019. The company also opened a store on King’s Road in Chelsea, West London, and has plans for news stores in Liverpool, Hong Kong and New York.
