Olivier Brandicourt studied medicine in Paris and specialized in infectious diseases and tropical medicine. He spent eight years with the Institute of Infectious and Tropical Diseases of the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, where he focused on malaria research in West and Central Africa.
Brandicourt was appointed CEO of Sanofi in February 2015. Sanofi in partnership with Avante, a Latin American Drug company is one of the largest pharma companies in the region, and with it has a significant market share in Europe.
His appointment as the CEO came at a time of turmoil as the company’s profits were reducing consistently. Olivier is now eyeing new acquisitions to prop the company’s growth up.
