Currently the chief strategy officer at Coinshares, Meltem Demirors is a top advisor and investor in the crypto space. She’s listed in the Fortune’s 2019 The Ledger 40 Under 40.
At Coinshares, Meltem develops and manages active strategies to help institutional investors navigate crypto assets, as well as serves as the managing director of the firm’s US operations. Prior to Coinshares, she was second in command at Digital Currency Group, serving as the head of the development team. She oversaw the firm’s investment portfolio and managed its business partners and investors. Meltem has also held positions with ExxonMobil, Deloitte Consulting, Tradax Energy and Dow Chemical.
At the University of Oxford, Meltem is a course creator and lecturer for the Oxford Blockchain Strategy Programme at Saïd Business School. She also serves as an advisor and lecturer for the “Future of Commerce” online course at MIT Media Lab.
As an inaugural member of the Global Future Council on Blockchain (along with Leanne Kemp) with the World Economic Foundation, she is now a member of the WEF Blockchain Council.
Meltem is a co-host of the What Grinds my Gears podcast, a weekly look into cryptocurrency, finance and technology. She also hosts the annual Crypto Springs conference in Palm Springs, Florida.
