What makes Martin Österdahl a global shaker?

Sometimes it takes one person with a vision to turn an iconic brand around. So it goes with Martin Österdahl, the man often credited with turning Eurovision from a ‘joke’ affair to a slick production that proudly takes its place as the most-watched musical event in the world.

Österdahl worked with Swedish public television company TV between 2005 and 2016 in a variety of roles. His leadership spanned two successes in the Eurovision song contest, and he was Executive Producer for the contests in both 2013 and 2016. During that time, he oversaw a radical overhaul of the voting process — described as “the most exciting and game-changing portion of the broadcast” — to ensure the overall winner is revealed in the final minutes of the show.

Osterdahl is now a Partner at Nordic Fiction AB, and is the author of the Max Anger thriller series, which has been translated into twelve languages.

He holds a Masters degree in Business Studies and Central European Studies from Uppsala University.
