Mariano has been at the head of the Santander Group’s InnoVentures since it began in 2014. InnoVentures is the bank’s global US$200 million venture capital fund that is solely focused on fintech investments.
It is evident that the man in charge of one of the biggest traditional banks in the world’s fintech projects is positioned to be a figure of substantive significance in its development within the scene. He holds a Bachelors in Computer Science and Philosophy from NYU and also conducted doctoral studies in AI at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
He is viewed by many as the most established representative of the major banks within London’s fintech scene. He is retained as a board observer for Curve, Ripple and MyCheck, all of which are fintech companies with huge potential. He was recently announced as the CEO of Santander Asset Management.
