As Chief Executive Officer of Umicore, Marc Grynberg has become recognised as the renewable energy leader vying for industry dominance with Tesla’s Elon Musk. The Belgian company has flourished under his direction, now boasting over 10,000 employees and a revenue of $3.3bn in 2018.
During Grynberg’s tenure, Umicore has become a global leader in cathode-material production, required for use in lithium-ion battery-powered electric vehicles. The company recently invested €300m ($338m) in its Asian cathode material production operation.
Grynberg graduated with a degree in Commercial Engineering from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, joining Umicore in 1996 as a group controller.
