When Lexi Tamasan entered the world of business, she had no idea she would go on to lead the company dubbed as “the UK’s friendliest online shop”. Along with her partner, Adam Taylor, Tamasan launched PetShop.co.uk in January 2011 as the first company in the European pet industry to offer a subscription service for pet foods (dubbed the “Bottomless Bowl”).
The e-commerce business sells pet food online directly to pet owners via their automatic subscription model. Lifted off the ground with a modest £5,000 Prince’s Trust loan, Tamasan’s business brainchild now boasts hundreds of thousands of customers, which helped the firm to secure a £250,000 grant from the Rural Growth Network. Taking the plunge into the world of business has certainly been a wise decision for Lexi Tamasan and Adam Taylor – PetShop.co.uk has set their sights towards an increased revenue with their own affordable premium dog food brand.
Now turning over several million pounds per year with a growing team of dedicated staff, Tamasan and Taylor’s pet food empire shows no signs of slowing down.
