Coffey started her career in consultancy before moving into the public sector and working on the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit which reported to No. 10 and consequently Tony Blair. Then Coffey joined the PM’s strategy unit and served the Brown and coalition administrations before being promoted to Deputy Director of Digital for the Cabinet Office.
During her climb up the public sector ladder she founded Future Reach, an EdTech company that helps students to prepare for and gain employment. She was recruited by Tech City at the beginning of 2017 to build and develop a new division specific to FinTech. It is viewed as a priority area due to its growth evidently accelerating the UK’s digital economy.
