Larry Solov is the secretive CEO, main owner, and President of Breitbart News, the far-right news and commentary website routinely accused of producing racist, xenophobic and sexist content. It played a key role in the election of US President Donald Trump.
Under former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, who was Executive Chairman of the site, Breitbart positioned itself as the ‘platform for the alt-right’ – a far-right, white nationalist movement. Solov’s identity as the CEO of Breitbart was only revealed in a US congressional hearing during which he had to confirm that Bannon had indeed resigned from the organisation.
Although visits seem to be in decline, Breitbart still pulls in millions of unique views every month. Breitbart Editor in Chief Alex Marlow recently received intense criticism for admitting that the website publishes news that is not true.
Solov has a degree in religious studies from Stanford University, and a law degree from UCLA.
