Jon Snow, the journalist is a primetime presenter on Channel 4 known for his incisive interviews and as the longest-serving host of a TV news show.
He served as ITN’s Washington correspondent (1983–1986) and as diplomatic editor (1986–1989) before becoming the main presenter of Channel 4 News in 1989. In 1992 he was the main anchor for ITN’s election night programme broadcast on ITV.
He has been accused in the past of having a bias against the Conservative Party but he has asserted his position as that of an impartial journalist.
He remained a sceptic of Brexit and predicted that ultimately the people of the UK will not vote to leave. He admitted later in Edinburgh TV festival that he was wrong and is “part of the out of touch Metropolitan Elite”.
