German Joerg Koch, 41, has made a name for himself as the founder and editor-in-chief of famed fashion and culture publication 032c magazine, known for its unexpected juxtapositions of content – from intellectual features on fashion history to high-concept shoots by A-list photographers such as Mario Sorrenti and Inez & Vinoodh.
It has become the quintessential magazine for a millennial readership that has no loyalty to traditional practices, and the magazine is free to multi-task as an agency, a gallery or a fashion brand.
In 2015, Koch became editor-in-chief of online boutique SSENSE; the Montreal-based retailer amasses up to 22 million views per month and is a trusted source for today’s top luxury releases. In 2016, 032c announced the opening of a new brick-and-mortar location in Berlin. The store provides a space for the magazine to showcase its merchandise line and various collaborative projects. Upstairs are the editorial office and design studio, bringing 032c’s various ventures under one roof.
The 032c Apparel collection includes T-shirts, sweatshirts, socks, motocross jerseys, and various other branded merchandise. A number of the designs are based on stories that have appeared in the magazine or are collaborations with brands and artists it has featured.
