Joachim Lutz has emerged as an international leader in the fields of renewable and green energies, becoming Chief Executive Officer of CropEnergies AG in 2015, one of the leading European manufacturers of sustainably-produced bioethanol.
Under his leadership, the firm is expecting revenues of up to €800m (£900m) for the 2018/19 financial year.
The company has a production capacity of over 1.3 million m³ of bioethanol for fuel applications per year, refining co-products from bioethanol production into protein-rich food and animal feedstuffs.
Prior to joining the German firm in 2006, initially as Chief Financial Officer, Lutz acted as Head of Finance at Südzucker, the largest sugar producer in Europe. His background is in banking, financing and auditing, having worked at firms including Deutsche Bank AG on corporate finance consulting for large stock corporations.
