At only 13 years of age, Jenk Oz has emerged as a powerhouse in social media and at the age of 12 became the youngest CEO in the UK. As the son of former Goldman Sachs Managing Director, Carmen Greco, Jenk Oz has benefited not only from funding but also in the mentorship and support of his parents.
Working in partnership with his mother, Jenk Oz uses his own company and brand – iCoolKid – to demonstrate that despite parental concerns, the world of social media and online communities can be a safe place for young people to explore. Oz’s digital platform, aimed at children aged between 8 – 15 years, was originally conceptualized as a site “for young people to hang out, and never get bored”. However, Oz has found success outside of the digital world.
His site has brought him into contact with a range of celebrities, musicians and sportsmen at red carpet events, leading to this young entrepreneur landing several acting roles in West End theatre productions, as well as Sky Atlantic’s Fortitude and Idris Elba’s very own A Hundred Streets. For Oz, life is all about connecting with young people across the globe via iCoolKid – and he certainly seems to be getting there: the site is predicted to reach a million unique users by 2022.
