Jane Zavalishina is the co-founder of Mechanica AI, a company that uses AI and machine learning to reduce costs and increase efficiency of industrial operations. The platform comes packaged as a highly customizable software module that can be implemented into existing control systems. The technology can be applied to a variety of industries, including mining, oil & gas, energy, and food processing.
“Companies are investing in machine learning not because it’s a fad or because it makes them seem pioneering. They invest in it because they are seeing the opportunity for rapid positive return on investment,” Jane said in an interview with Robotics and Automation News. “Being able to predict success more accurately or avoid potential losses preemptively are game changing benefits and something companies will always strive for.”
Jane has a rich history working in the AI field. She was previously the CEO of Yandax Data Factory, which applied AI to the mining sector. She is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council and is an advisory board member for Responsible AI at SIDN Fonds. She also teaches classes in artificial intelligence and data science at Singularity University.
Jane is from Russia but is currently based in Amsterdam.
