What makes Ines Pohl a Global Shaker?
Ines Pohl is a veteran journalist and has over two decades of experience in Political reporting.
Pohl understands the political landscape in America. Born in 1967, she is a former Nieman fellow at Harvard University and has critically observed many important developments in the USA during her career in journalism.
She believes strongly that while media doesn’t create politics, it still empowers people in a democracy to create informed opinions. Today Pohl promotes the use of social media to deepen the connection between the digital audience and journalist.
Ines Pohl, now the Editor-in-chief of the cosmopolitan German news organisation DW was a Washington correspondent when the EU referendum was announced.
She was responsible for reporting from the inner circles of the Republican Party about issues relevant to the EU, particularly the Brexit. She pioneered a number of reports on the subject and has authored several articles explaining the connecting threads between ‘the Trump phenomenon’ and Brexit.
