In his role as President of Grupo PRISA, Spanish businessman Ignacio Polanco presides over one of the biggest media empires in Spain. He controls El País, the country’s most-read newspaper; Cadena Ser, Spain’s most-listened-to radio; and As, a sports paper with more daily readers than El País’ closest competitor, the newspaper El Mundo. PRISA’s network of media reaches millions of readers and listeners each day.
Polanco joined PRISA in 2000 as Deputy President, eventually becoming president in 2007 following the death of his father and PRISA co-founder, Jesús de Polanco.
Polanco holds a degree in economics from Complutense University of Madrid.
