What makes Gérard Jones a Global Shaker?

Gérard Jones is a professional English football coach was the founder of the Gerard Jones School of Football, named one of the Top 100 Best startups in the UK. He used the company’s platform, which generated over $5m in revenues from its player development and coach education programmes, to establish himself as one of the top coach educators in the world.

Jones is now Elite Coach Educator at Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football, where he works closely with the Moroccan national team, training the country’s next generation of coaches. He recently began a series of webinar sessions in French.

A former youth player at Halifax Town AFC, Jones has amassed more than 14 years of coaching experience in roles in the UK, Italy, Norway, New Zealand and the US. In 2010 he became one of Arsenal FC’s youngest Directors of Coaching at its Soccer Schools, before progressing to roles at Bradford City AFC and Bristol Rovers FC.

He’s a specialist in communication psychology and the use of ‘game calls’ in developing coaches. He won the Junior Chamber International U.K. Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Award in 2014, and released a debut book, Let’s Talk Soccer, in 2015. He also established several companies that combine a twin passion for education and elite football. ‘Premier Skills’ delivered mentoring support to grassroots clubs and ran skills centres for players aged 5-12 years old throughout Yorkshire, in England.
