For UK-based entrepreneur Gem Misa, running one successful business simply wasn’t enough. Years after successfully building her first firm, Righteous, Misa is now better known for her second business venture, FullGreen (previously known as Cauli Rice).
As dietary techniques seemingly evolve week by week, Misa has successfully built upon the current craze for “faux” carbs, launching a company which specialises in microwaveable, gluten & preservative free vegan cauliflower rice. Originally launched as Cauli Rice, Gem Misa’s product is now stocked in over 1,500 supermarkets across the UK and US including Tesco, Waitrose and Wholefoods.
The faux-carb start-up has secured over £2 million in crowdfunding, with the company founder named as a “UK Export Food Pioneer” by British Secretary of State Liz Truss. Since re-branding as Fullgreen, Misa has achieved massive revenues, even counting Sir Richard Branson as a fan (he named Cauli Rice as “one of Britain’s hottest food businesses” at Pitch to Rich 2015).
The rice alternative has certainly come a long way for Misa: since she established Fullgreen along with co-founder Jamie Harris, the company has gone from strength to strength, expanding its operations across the UK and US.
