What makes Fanny Péchiodat a Global Shaker?

Fanny Péchiodat is the founder and CEO of My Little Paris, the city’s first media start-up. It spawned from the entrepreneur sharing unusual neighbourhood finds through an email thread. Her initial example was a flower shop that later at night became a speakeasy bar. She couldn’t have predicted the expansion of her chain with 10,000 people signed on after six months. She then recruited her co-founders Anne-Flore Chapellier, Céline Orjubin, and artist Kanako Kuno and officially created My Little Paris.

Since it’s inception in 2008, My Little Paris grew from a list of secret hotspots within Paris to a start-up valued at €40 million, with 4 million subscribers and a team of 130 strong as of 2018. That was achieved without any advertising. Besides from the website the company also has two branches in Marseille and Lyon, and an in-house beauty brand in addition to monthly subscription boxes of beauty products called My Little Box.

Péchiodat is a thriving personality within the Paris start-up scene and is an outspoken advocate of Xavier Neil’s Station F. In an interview with Bazaar she said “people underestimate the Parisian startup scene. It’s growing remarkably fast, especially for women. When we launched, the startup culture was largely dominated by men, yet five out of six of My Little Paris’ founders were female. Today, 75 percent of our staff are women.”
