What makes Elena Shramko a Global Shaker?
Russian pastry chef Elena Shramko is not just the creator of fantastical, imagination-bending desserts: she’s also a driving force behind Russia’s culinary evolution.
As President of the Academy of Culinary Arts Exclusive, Shramko teaches cooks, pastry chefs and amateurs who want to want to reach the next level. On the website, the academy says it has trained more than 11,500 students, many of whom have then gone on to work at top Russian restaurants.
Shramko’s popular Instagram feed features fairytale-style croissants, gravity-defying chocolate sculptures, and flying geese sugar structures.
She was also co-organiser of the International Kremlin Culinary Cup, a worldwide competition held in Russia and CIS countries, with a focus on Russian and Slavic cuisine. It aims to show traditions of Russian and Slavic cuisine, and promote them on an international level.
