Eligo Bioscience a startup that develops targeted, sequence-specific antibiotics by combining phage capsids and CRISPR / Cas technology (the technology used in gene editing). Eligo Bioscience was elected as one of the 30 most innovative companies in the world 13 by the World Economic Forum in 2017.
Addressing a conference with EU startups Dr Xavier said ” With Eligobiotics, we can precisely intervene on the microbiome – targeting specific bacteria for interventions of our choice. By engineering the microbiome itself with sniper-like precision, we can address the cause, not just the symptoms, of bacteria-associated diseases.”
