Dr Agnes Binagwaho is a Rwandan paediatrician and serves as Minister of Health of Rwanda. After practising as a paediatrician for over 15 years, Dr Binagwaho led the National AIDS Control Commission between 2002 and 2008.
She then served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health until 2011. Since April 1, 2017, Binagwaho has been the Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda. She co-founded the university on the principle that every member of the community deserves the same level of care and opportunity.
As the Co-Chair Global Health innovation task force, 2030 Dr Agnes is overseeing the research and development projects of WHO. She says the task force is committed to enhancing the quality of healthcare in a data-driven business model. The primary goals of the task force are to work in the developing world to eradicate STDs and further the research on child healthcare.
