Boris Kesler Fasano is the founding CEO of Mainbot. The company aims to build robot companions which will create a better world, work alongside humans and increase our potential through augmentation. The team envisions a future where robots are fully and seamlessly integrated into our society and hope to help that future become a reality.
Their current product is Winky, a robot companion for children with a boatload of features. It can interact with people dependent on their mood and has an emotional character engine. This allows Winky to sense if a user wants to play or not and even displays emotion-based expressions through LEDs. The robot can identify users by their voice and stores all interaction within its memory component, which allows the robot to understand people more innately over time. Winky can be easily taken apart and put back together as all of its components are magnetic and even teaches children to code.
Fasano describes himself as “a serial entrepreneur with a track record in robotics and in the IoT field.” He studied business administration and management at IE Business School and has founded various other companies before Mainbot. These include MT Robotics, LePiq, Wikibot, and MainTool. LePiq created a high-end smartwatch, Wikibot provided an educational platform with multimedia quality contents about cutting-edge technologies and MainTool built a smartwatch strap that could be fitted to any watch.
