Ben Brabyn is at the head of Level39, an ambitious tech community consisting of over 1,000 people working for 200 companies. The community pays particular attention to disrupting and innovating within the financial services sector a.k.a FinTech.
Brabyn did not have the most conventional entry into the world of financial services. He began his career as a Royal Marine Commando in the British Armed Forces. Climbing to the rank of Captain before leaving to work as an analyst in investment banking for JP Morgan in New York, London and the Middle East.
Realising the power of digital he founded Bmycharity.com which was the UK’s first crowdfunding website and raised more than £50 million before selling the business on in 2010.
Now with Level39 he hopes to be at the centre of the seemingly never-ending tech boom in London and help to aid a multitude of high growth start-ups. Barbyn has a Masters in philosophy and literature from the University of Edinburgh as well as an MBA from Warwick Business School.
