What makes Andy Wigmore a Global Shaker?
Andrew Bruce Wigmore is a political operative, former diplomat, athlete, and businessman. Known for his representation of Belize at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and his work on the Leave.EU campaign during the UK’s 2016 referendum on membership of the European Union, he is a prominent associate of Arron Banks and Nigel Farage.
Andy Wigmore has been celebrated as the social media wizard behind the Leave campaign’s precise targeting of internet users, effectively spreading the message of the campaign at a fraction of the cost of traditional advertising.
He established an influential network of bloggers and social media influencers who would post, tweet and retweet the Leave campaign’s online content, day-in, day-out.
In an interview with the editor of LSE blogs, Wigmore said that working for the online platform helps foster important conversations surrounding mainstream debates.
