What makes Amit Gudka and Hayden Wood Global Shakers?
Amit Gudka and Hayden Wood are the founders of Bulb, a 100% renewable electricity and 100% carbon gas provider. The UK’s ‘fastest growing energy supplier’ has 270 employees and works with 1.2m homes across the UK.
Both of the young entrepreneurs used to work in the energy business, striking out alone in 2015 in response to expensive tariffs and ‘dirty energy’. The company estimates that every home receiving its energy from Bulb saves an average of 3.5 tonnes of CO2 per year – adding up to a total saving of 4.2m tonnes of CO2 across the country each year.
The company was named one of LinkedIn’s 25 UK tech start ups to work for in 2018, and was the top company in the 2018 startups 100 list.
